July 4th weekend 2020

Yesterday we got back from a 5 day trip to OR and Vancouver to spend in our mini "Lewis reunion" where 5 of the 9 siblings were there. I'm so glad we live close to do this.
We arrived noonish on Wednesday and Dallin wasted no time in playing with Kaeley and Daisy. He is pretty obsessed with those two (and he loves Clark, too). Daisy has been into reading Harry Potter so she taught him some spells like "lumis maximus" to turn on the lights.

Thursday was a low key day at the Vances as the Johns got in real late the night before. We just did a lot of talking and eating. Sounds like Lewises. :)

Friday we went to pick blueberries, ate lunch at Lewisville park, and took a little hike there. The grandkids had a lot of fun trying to push Grandma up the hill on her chair. For a minute there I was a little worried that she would roll down the hill. She said, "well, it wouldn't be the first time!" That night we all watched Hamilton and the music has been in our heads ever since. Already itching to watch it again.

Saturday was our beach day for the 4th! We were at Rockaway which is where the Doutre's had their reunion last year. It was packed and just absolutely gorgeous weather. Lots of digging sand and tentatively dipping our feet in the ocean.

Sunday we went to the Vances for church. We had the sacrament there too. Addison and Jackson blessed and Bryson and Spencer passed. It was so sweet to do this as a family. Most of us bore testimonies afterwards and it was mostly focused on blessings and what we've seen through these COVID times. I was really impressed with the youth's testimonies. Austin taught them afterwards in their Sunday School class. I helped out with Viv doing Primary. Mom taught the adults and I got to sneak in just at the tail end.

We ended the evening by having a British candy tasting contest and eating yummy pie for Tiffany's birthday today.

By the end, Dallin finally started warming up to some people. He was just interested in the trampoline most of the time. Such a different dynamic with grandkids where most of them are teenagers. We're outgrowing the stage of little kids running around. But already planning our next trip!
