2019 in Review

This is my second year posting about my year in review in the little and not so little things I was able to accomplish. It shows that we do more good than we think. All the little acts add up!

-Wrote 32 blog posts
-Read aloud to Dallin for a total of about 90 hours
-Taught about 8 YW lessons
-Put together about 1000 meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
-Made about 50 new dinner meals
-Started a new hobby of artisan bread making
-Meditated for 5 mins every day for 80 days straight
-Read 125 books (49 on kindle, 36 audio, 40 paperback)
-Flew on a plane with a toddler 6 times
-Dallin learned how to walk and is constantly saying new words daily-his favorites are rice and hot and he always has a long 'wow' whenever the Christmas lights come on
-Austin clocked another 2,000 miles on his bike just in his commute
-Visited a new place to us, Whidbey Island
-Watched way too many Hallmark movies :)
-Did 30 days of yoga from Yoga with Adriene
-Continued reading from scriptures (even if it was just a verse) every day

But of course, numbers don't mean everything. It's the little moments. I crave a good routine and we settled well into one this year. Lots of trips to St. Edwards, the park, library, trail walks, and occasionally a Seattle favorite like the cherry blossom festival at UW and Pacific Science Center. And afternoons consisted of read aloud and making dinner while Dallin played or got into all the kitchen things.

I also feel like I was more reflective this year as I wrote a lot of more 'deep thoughts' type posts. I attribute that to a lot of meditation from Brooke Snow's course.

We got to visit family several times on both sides, through conference weekends, Lewis Sisters retreat on the Oregon coast, and the Oregon coast again in August for Doutre reunion. Then we flew to Utah for Labor day for ultimate frisbee tournament with Austin and his family. And then spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in Oregon with the Lewis family.

We sure live a good life. I'm excited for all the new things we're going to learn and especially excited to dive more into the Book of Mormon for Come, Follow Me.

How was your year?
