Mormon Tabernacle Pioneer Day Concert

To say that we love MoTab might be an understatement and after we watched the video of Santino Fontana perform with them last at the Pioneer Day Concert, we didn't want to miss this year's concert as we are trying to take advantage of living close to do these things.
Whenever we go to Utah, we like to make a trip out of it, that includes making it to one of the many Utah Temples. We've both never been inside the Logan Temple and so we went and did a session there. There is so much peace in Temples and remembering covenants. It was great to finally be in the place where my parents and grandparents were married. Feeling "the hearts turn to their fathers" moment. We wanted to visit Grandma Julia but she was actually going to be out of town that very day so we were sad to miss her and hope to catch her another time.
That morning I found out that Emily, Bronson, CJ, and Danielle all were going to the concert as well! We made arrangements to meet up for dinner beforehand. This was the first time we saw Crismon and Danielle since their return from Taiwan. Thanks E, B, C, and D for making the time to be with us! That was the highlight of our trip.
While we were waiting for them, Austin and I went to SLC and walked around the Liberty Park. This weekend we happened to see a lot of old friends we hadn't seen in years like old friends growing up, college friends, old mission buddies, and cousins.
The concert that night was such a delight! Laura Osnes (who played Cinderella on Broadway opposite playing was Santino as the prince) was phenomenal! I could listen to her all day. Her voice was effortless and she was so fun to watch. I'm really glad that we can watch the whole thing again online. :)
It turned into a late night getting home but thank goodness for Harry Potter on audio, the trip home was a breeze.

So fun to just hang out together.

Excited for the concert to start!

As Emily says, it's the Phase Three of the Lewis clan. This picture was made possible by the selfie stick from Taiwan. :)

  1. I think I take for granted living in Utah! We've never done the pioneer concert but you've convinced me I need to! Liberty park is so fun....
