23!

I wrote a post last year on Austin's birthday that I remembered I woke up at the crack of dawn to finish so I could get it to him on his birthday. We had only been dating for about 2 months. Now a year later, we've been married for 4.5 months and we're starting out a great life together.

Don't you just love the look on his face? Sums up Austin's personality pretty well.

Some things that I love about this guy:

He's quite the environmentalist. I didn't realize when I married him that I would be marrying a hippie but I'm okay with it. My chacos and his green heart make a great pair.

He LOVES to sing. And he frequently professes his love to me through song. It's the best.

He's definitely a kid at heart. Disney Pixar movies are his favorite. Not only is he innocent but he gets excited about the littlest things and to express that excitement he just has to squeeze something so tight (I'm usually the closest thing he grabs ;) He has a love/hate relationship with intense movies but he loves finding the good meaning out of every story.

He's extremely smart and I love how much he knows about how things work and why things are the way they are. He's an engineer for sure. I love the story of him when he was really young wondering how magnets work and just being so fascinated by it. I hope our kids are that inquisitive.

He's practical. Every empty bottle or can he wants to save to use...someday. I'm usually the one to give him the look like "do you think that we'll really use that someday? I mean you can only have so many coin collecting cans." But in the end we do find some good uses for some things like the time when we passed by a dumpster and found an empty 5 gallon bucket that had dried paint all of it but he was determined to clean it out and now we use it to weed our yard. Also, he got just as excited about getting an iron for his birthday as he was his favorite movie. Yes he was the one that asked for an iron, a gift I would never dream of asking for my birthday.

He's downright hilarious. I love his silly humor.

Anything related to his mission, Ukraine, or Russian makes him really happy. I swear Russian is the hardest language and for that reason I fear we'll live there someday so I'm prepping myself now to learn a little bit. Hey I wrote a happy birthday sign to him in Russian (thanks Google!).

But overall, Austin has the kindest heart and the most calming nature of anyone I know. His encouraging love and support is amazing. He makes me realize how lucky I got it. Yep, he's the best.

Love you Austin Glen!
